Meet your Parliamentarian!
Yes… my thoughts exactly… “What is a Parliamentarian?” A parliamentarian is an expert in interpreting and applying the "Rules of Order" for meetings of deliberative assemblies. Meaning, it is my role and responsibility to assist our Mary Martin PTA board of elected and appointed officials, in the proper execution and implementation or the rules and procedures of the local, state, and national PTA laws and regulations.
Now that that is out of the way, my name is Aaron Graham. This is my first year actively participating with the Mary Martin PTA. I have been a PTA member since my oldest son started school 9 years ago.
Many of you know me through the “Watch Dog Dad, Watch D.O.G.S.” program. I am the one that wore a different costume each time I participated last year. Welcoming your children to school in the morning and waving to as many of the parents as I could, as you dropped your kids off. I have been an
active participant in the “Watch D.O.G.S.” program since my oldest son was in kindergarten. Currently, I have a son going into 4th grade at Mary Martin, and another son going into 8th grade at Tison. I also have two stepdaughters, one going into 8th grade at Tison, and another going into 10th grade at Weatherford High School.
While I am not a Texan by birth, I moved here as fast as I could. I grew up in Kentucky and graduated from college at the University of Kentucky. Go Wildcats!!! I attended grad school at the University of South Florida. I am also a die-hard Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. I have been in the field of Ophthalmology for 27 years. No, I am not that old, I started in High School.
I am truly honored to have been appointed to be the next parliamentarian for the Mary Martin PTA.
Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for the “Watch D.O.G.S” program. This program truly makes a difference in the lives of the students at Mary Martin, and additionally provides a resource and support structure for all the teachers at Mary Martin.
